The Project aims to establish a Glamping/Event operation that utilizes the natural and recreational assets already available on the Property and in the surrounding area. The Project's primary focus is to provide guests with an opportunity to engage with nature and the community in a unique way. Additionally, the Project will facilitate a variety of events, such as weddings, corporate retreats, cultural gatherings, and business conferences, concurrently with its primary objective.
Boorn Brook Farm boasts a rich history, dating back to its 1790s Farmhouse and 1820s historic Barn, and has since transformed into a private country estate. Situated adjacent to the Green Mountain National Forest, the estate was acquired in 1999 from the Shelburne Museum as part of the estate of Marion Gould Pleissner, the previous owner for over 50 years and wife of renowned outdoor hunting sports artist, Ogden Pleissner. Pleissner's studio once resided in the Barn and has since been replicated at the Shelburne Museum in Burlington, VT.
After more than two years of extensive renovations and restorations to both the property and the interior and exterior of the Farmhouse and Barn, the 69+ acre Green Mountain private estate was modernized. The project was led by Boston architects Judge, Skelton, Smith, and included the installation of new utility infrastructure (electric, water, plumbing, septic, cable, phone, high-speed internet, furnaces, and AC) with underground installation to all structures to preserve sightlines. Today, the estate serves as a multi-generational private sanctuary and exclusive estate, less than 2 miles away from the lively New England town of Manchester Center, Vermont.
The Property is situated 2 miles away from the Town of Manchester, occupying the southeastern corner of the town. It is bounded by Bourn Brook to the north and the Green Mountain National Forests and Lye Brook Wilderness to the east, south, and west.
